Sorry everyone! Life has been crazy. I will sometime towards the end of the week be posting an update on my life. I am determined to actually use my blog and keep you up to date on the happenings of my life. So once again my apologies on not posting sooner.

This Weekend

I am very excited for this weekend. My mom is coming up tomorrow and she and I are going to spend the whole weekend together. Right after I get done with class tomorrow (my last class of the day starts at 3) we are going to head out of town to go spend some time with my Godparents. We are going to spend Friday and Saturday night with them. I am really excited to see them! They are very nice people and they are always fun to spend time with. Then on Sunday night we are going to be staying in a hotel in town. And to make things even better I was able to get off of work on Monday, so that I will be able to spend a little bit more time with her before she heads home on Monday. I am super excited! I always enjoy seeing my mom!

Galadon

On Saturday I went shopping with two of my roommates and a friend. While we were out shopping my two roommates and I started talking about getting a mascot for our apartment and since the only animals that we are allowed to have on campus are fish we very soon decided to get a fish. So we went to the pet store to see what they had for bettas. And before long I had bought a red male betta. We decided that he needed a name and we thought that perhaps we should give him a fantasy name. So our red betta's name comes from one of the two Elvish Languages in The Lord of the Rings (I don't know which of the two though). His name is Galadon (which comes from the name of the City of the Trees in Lothlorien which is Caras Galadon).

Back To School

Well, I am back at school. And I must say that I think I am going to like all of my classes this semester. My classes this semester are Experimental Design, Psychology of Language, Oceanography, American Lit I, and Guitar Lessons. For Experimental Design I have a professor who is brand new to the school, but I really like her and think that I am going to learn a great deal from the class. I am really enjoying Psychology of Language. In Psych of Language so far we have been talking about what makes a language, which is really interesting to think about and discuss. I think part of the reason that I enjoy Oceanography so much is the fact that my professor always seems really into it and excited to be teaching it. Today in Oceanography we talked about some of the different planets and four of Jupiter's moons and two of Saturn's moons, which was really neat. I think American Lit I is going to be one of the more challenging of my classes, but I am liking it. I have found some of the things that we are reading and discussing to be a little bit difficult, but I figure that it is good to have a challenge (it helps you learn). Then of course there are my guitar lessons. I really really really enjoy music and I am enjoying learning to play the guitar. I am looking forward to learning more chords and improving on my playing skills this semester. There you have a very brief summary to the start of my semester and a bit of an idea as to what I will be doing over the course of the semester. I will try to post more often then I have been.
